Local-first browser extension

Keep the text you reuse one shortcut away.

Save text and links once, then insert them into the field you're already using. No account, cloud sync, or trip through the clipboard.

Each store button shows its current availability.

One small loop

Save it once. Use it where the work is.

Pin Things combines page capture, a focused local library, and insertion beside the field without turning the workflow into another app.

  1. 01

    Capture from the page

Save selected text, a clicked link, or the current page from the right-click menu. You can also create pins in the popup.

  2. 02

    Find the right pin

Search active pins by title or content in the compact popup or the picker beside the field.

  3. 03

    Insert where you're typing

Insert plain text at the caret or replace only the current selection, then return focus to the field.

Five screens, one workflow

See the whole loop before you install.

Follow the same text from page capture, through the local library, to insertion and backup.

Keep control of local data

Export local backups and see the unencrypted-storage boundary clearly.

Pin Things Help dialog explaining page capture, local backups, unencrypted storage, and which secrets not to save.
Help keeps the local, unencrypted storage boundary explicit.

Local-first by design

Your pins stay in this browser.

Storage is local and unencrypted. There is no account, cloud sync, analytics, telemetry, advertising, or external network service.

Clear boundaries

Useful text, not secrets.

Pin Things is a local capture-and-reuse tool. It is not a password manager, and saved pins are not encrypted.

  • Not a password manager

Do not store passwords, API keys, authentication tokens, or other secrets.

  • Local backup

Export a versioned JSON backup and import only the file you choose. Clearing extension data or uninstalling can remove local pins.

  • No external service

V1 has no account, external data transmission, cloud synchronization, analytics, telemetry, or advertising.
